Bio : Mixed Attraction is an English/Australian producer and recording artist. Born in 1994 to English and German ancestry, Mix grew up on a farm in the rural North-Eastern Victorian town of Swan Hill. Mixed Attractions’ first taste of the music industry came at the age of just 15 years, when an original song composed by the artist was broadcast on local radio. At 16 years old the artist won a scholarship to a prestigious Victorian Grammar School where he undertook studies in Music Theory Appreciation and Music Industry Skills. His extracurricular production sessions with school friends outside of class taught Mix how to produce music using DAW software. Mix produced prolifically throughout his teenage years, and used his favourite genres of pop, hip-hop and electro for influence. In 2015 Mixed Attraction founded Atomic Records Australia while he was studying a tertiary Music Production course in the Central South East of mainland Australia. Mix produced a studio album through the company as well as several EP’s for Albury Wodonga artists. After graduating with a certificate IV in Sound Engineering, Mixed Attraction travelled to South East Asia, South America and Europe seeking life experiences and inspiration to compose. In 2018 Mixed finally released his first solo album called ‘The Palace’. Written in various places around England, Scotland, Ireland and France. The album was coined “Electro pop-hop” and received very little reception on the international stage. Mixed Attraction was criticised for his accent which was heavily influenced both by his English mother and his Australian upbringing. Mixed returned to Australia to continue his studio work. In 2018-19 he produced for a number of Australian artists including Keatz, Keith.E & Sarz, SiR B, Skyl3r, Frankii, and Desertlife. Mixed became employed by the 2REM radio company to produce day and night time mixes, news and chat-show programs. At 2REM Mixed Attraction created his own program called The Atomic Countdown. The countdown featured a top-twenty music chart of local and regional artists. Within twelve months Mix’s countdown was nominated for a Southern Community Media Association X-Award, for best locally produced music program. Six months later Mix himself was nominated as a finalist in the Community Broadcasting Association of Australia’s 2019 awards for the category of Youth Contribution to Radio in Australia. In late 2019, after having expanding his program to six regional broadcasters in NSW and Victoria, Mix used the show to release his first single since ‘The Palace’ album, called Dumb Boy.
