Sometimes I Hate My Body (Dysautonomia Awareness)

October is Dysautonomia Awareness Month. I was diagnosed 10 years ago. I have two different types of Dysautonomia, both impact me severely and daily. Neurocardiogenic Syncope and Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome. Dysautonomia is not rare but is rarely known and often misdiagnosed. When I wrote this song, years ago, due to what my disabilities had taken from me - sometimes I did hate my body. I have, however, with thanks to the loving embrace of the disabled community, I have learnt to love my body - as Marilyn Monroe said "My body is my body - every part of it" (Marilyn did not have dysautonomia but struggled with her own invisible chronic illnesses.)
