D.B.L.U.'s debut EP, the 'Smoke Screen' is a collection of 5 fast-paced, sonically diverse tracks that loosely explore a narrative around stage fright and performance anxiety.
Containing both singles '1Track' and 'Scared', the project poses the question 'You can't see through the smoke screen yet, can you?'; a message that has become prominent in the album's marketing and branding. This question tackles the theme of identity, addressing the artist's fear of inadvertently presenting a false identity through his music.
SCARED is produced by fellow Ballarat musician Surfe, the remaining tracks are self-produced.
