Bio :
Melbourne rock band One More Weekend first appeared on the scene by winning the “Best Act” at the Knox Big Break festival on just their third live performance.
Since then, the group has gone from strength to strength playing well over 250 shows all over Australia sharing the stage with diverse artists such as Reece Mastin, Bec Sandridge, Arkive and Skies Collide.
The band consists of brothers Connor Dougan (Guitar, Lead Vocals) and Leith Dougan (Bass, Backing Vocals) and are completed by Tim Aslett (Lead Guitar and Backing Vocals) and Jayson Riley (Drums and Percussion).
With a style that spans genres flowing easily from hard rock to pop and writing songs filled with crafted hooks and rock rhythms, the band have often been compared to artists such as the The Darkness, Yungblud, The Maine and The Getaway Plan amongst others.
Their new song, “Aunty Meredith” is the latest single/video release and will be available on Saturday 21st June 2025. This will be followed by a single release live show at Melbourne’s iconic Catfish Bar on Saturday evening 12th July.
A fever dream in both sound and story, Aunty Meredith dives deep into the human psyche, exploring the tension between escapism and self-reckoning. What begins as a euphoric trip quickly descends into a dark odyssey, with the protagonist confronting – and ultimately becoming – their own inner demon.
Vocalist Connor Dougan on the new single: “This one’s about that thin line between freedom and losing control. It’s personal, intense, and we didn’t want to sugar-coat any of it.”
The band have now racked up an impressive back catalogue with previous singles “Unaware, Opportunity, Raindrops, Colourful Things and Talk” all producing sold out release shows and with their debut album release “We Used To…” has gathered a quarter of a million streams on the Spotify platform alone. All this see’s the group excited and ready for the next step forward in their musical journey.
Connor Dougan explains: We will be following this release up with some city and country shows around Vic and the East Coast and then it’s back in to the studio to start recording work on our new album.
