Bred in the centre of culture driven Byron Bay, Joel Sulman felt the Blues well before he dropped the training wheels off his bike.
After an overly political career in I.T. and his first taste of a crowd at an Albury Open Mic Night, he resigned from the white collar world to spread what his insides were craving all along.
After just one year on the road, he had himself billed next to international heavyweights such as John Mayer, Elvis Costello, The Doobie Brothers, Gary Clark Jr, Michael Franti and Dr John. Alongside this list, he has been seen supporting Australian artists such as The Whitlams, Diesel, Claude Hay, Shaun Kirk, The Timbers and more.
Joel Sulman is described as “being from the Old School” (Jamie Horne, Fairfax Media). His style of blues is “as accessible as it is bona-fide”. His lyrics come from experiences, His music from the heart. With an engaging and powerful rasp that helps add a legitimate storytelling quality to his craft, Joel exits the stage with a crowd engaged yet breathless.
